Serdang, May 30 - With the theme "Assistive Technology for the Elderly ', a total of 40 students from the Department of Computer and Communication Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UPM have proven themselves in their invention and design of products for senior citizens. A total of 16 inventions that have been produced are i-Jada (praying mat), the location detection device elderly, i-HOME (smart house system), i-walker, smart shoes and etc.
The exhibition was heldon May 26, 2017 at Level 3, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), UPM is organized together by the Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing) UPM, Department of Computer and Communication Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UPM and the Association of U3A Malaysia.
The aim of this exhibition organized was to give exposure to the students in designing products that can assist older persons in their daily activities. Indirectly, it also to promote awareness and concern of youth generation towards aged people.
