MyAgeingâ„¢ 2023 Building Evacuation Drill (Fire Drill 2023)

SERDANG, Dec 15 – The Emergency Response Team (ERT), MyAgeing™ has successfully held the MyAgeing™ Building Evacuation Training 2023 (Fire Drill 2023) after three (3) years of being halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This training is a collaboration with the First Aid Unit (UBM), the University Health Center (PKU) and the UPM Aid Police.

The training started at 10.00 am with a fire incident with a plume of smoke in the Pantry Level 3, MyAgeing™ and was followed by the sound of the security alarm system. All occupants managed to get out of the building within the stipulated period. In the incident, there was a victim who fell from the stairs and suffered minor injuries and a broken arm. First Aid Officers provided initial treatment to the victim before the PKU arrived at the scene.

Based on the results of the MyAgeing™ ERT Team Post-Mortem, Mr. Hasmi bin Sulaiman as the head of the First Aid Unit (UBM) informed that the overall implementation of the MyAgeing Building Evacuation Training 2023 was good. However, there are several suggestions for improvements that need to be implemented to improve the quality of the ERT team in the future.

Meanwhile, the Building Evacuation Training is an annual training that every PTJ at UPM must carry out with the aim of providing training to the Emergency Action Team (ERT) as first responders as well as training staff in complying with current instructions in the face of any emergency. In addition, this training also aims to test the security system available in MyAgeing™.
